Berry And Oats Smoothie - Berry Oatmeal Smoothie

Berries & Oats Smoothie is a very simple & healthy breakfast/snack option. Its as simple as bringing together all the ingredients and blending to get this delicious smoothie. I am kind of lazy when it comes to eating fruits, so such smoothies are a great way to include fruits in my day's meal plan. 


What I like about Oats/oatmeal is that its cheap, filling and healthy and when combined with yogurt makes it a complete protein. Adding oatmeal to smoothies makes it a complete meal but you can totally just skip the oats and make it a berry smoothie. Many love banana in their smoothies so you can always add banana to this smoothie or check my Strawberry Banana Smoothie recipe. 

Now to the recipe...



Ingredients:
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup blackberries
1/2 cup yogurt
1-2 tbsp instant oatmeal/oats
1 tbsp honey (or to taste)
pinch of salt
Few mint leaves for garnishing


Method: 
Cut the top of the strawberry and slice it into 4 pieces so that it equals the size of blueberries and blackberries (approximately). Now add all the ingredients in a blender and blend till you get a smooth puree. If you like your smoothie to be liquidy add water/milk as required. 




Notes: 
  • You can add any berry of your choice or as available to you. If fresh berries are not available, frozen berries work just as great as fresh ones. Just omit the ice if you are using frozen fruits. 
  • You can add banana and milk too if you like. 
  • To take the flavor to another level you can add mint, basil or other herb too. 
  • Berries can sometimes be a combination of sweet and sour so adjust the amount of honey/sugar accordingly.
